The Cross Keys, Wallingford

This pub is on the High Street, Wallingford. Chatting to a Dad and his daughter in the garden (in response to his daughter's question as to why I was taking photos - a reasonable one!) he told me that his children love the garden. He did say that the pub itself was a 'drinkers' pub' and that they just spent their time outside.

There is a restaurant but the website does not appear to be working at the moment.

Access is easy, parking is good and it is convenient if you've spent some time shopping in Wallingford.

Nearby: The Bull Croft Park, Wallingford. Just down the road, also Wallingford Splash park.

Bell, Crowmarsh Gifford

This is a Hungry Horse pub. If you've ever been to one of these chain pubs, they're fairly uniform, but the playground here is big when compared to the playground at the Ladygrove Hungry Horse in Didcot.

There's plenty of parking, the restaurant is large and it's easy to find.

Hungry Horse pubs serve standard pub fayre and they provide a fairly wide choice for children - mine are quite fussy, one being a vegetarian and the other an insatiable carnivore. You can view their menu here

The Packhorse, Mappledurham.

The Packhorse is along the same road as the Pack Saddle, map. It's on the same side of the road. It is also lovely, with a huge, exciting garden, suitable for older children.

You know a pub is a good one when you see landlords hanging out in it on their day off. I recognised a landlady from another pub in here. Surely a recommendation!

There's lots of parking, plenty of places to sit outside, and lots of shade.

The Chequers, Berrick Salome

This pub has a lovely garden and some equipment to keep your children busy. You can get there via Benson and it is well sign posted. However here is a map.
There is also a playground in Berrick Salome, which you can find directions to here

The Pack Saddle, Mappledurham

The Pack Saddle is a really lovely pub, inside and out. it is open all the time, from 11 am - 11 pm. It is along the A4074, the road from Wallingford to Reading which you can find on this map.
Their website
There is a playground nearby, in Mappledurham itself, as well as Caversham gardens. Both are further down the hill nearer to Reading itself.
